Ami-Lee Wilder Pirates CARE Endowed Scholarship for Gulf Breeze High School Graduates honors theta chi 207178, 207179, 244421, 244426 Ami-Lee Wilder was a serious student, who loved to read and held herself to high academic standards. While she finished her final year of school at Gulf Breeze High School, Ami-Lee was also a dual-enrollment student at Pensacola Junior College. Ami-Lee flourished at PJC; she loved the freedom, independence, and academics of attending college. She did so well at PJC that she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Ami-Lee died in an automobile accident at 18 years old in August 1990 while attending PJC. In 2022, Ami-Lee's father, Harry Wilder, established this scholarship in her memory. Award is up to $6,150.00 per student, per school year for tuition, fees, books, and/or course materials required by the syllabi. If criteria are maintained, students can receive subsequent awards in consecutive semesters. Scholarship provides recipients with a laptop, a PSC Pirates CARE mentor, access to the PSC food pantry and clothing closet, transportation assistance, job coaching, mental health counseling, academic support, and life skills workshops. Student must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher, be a US citizen or resident alien, have graduated from Gulf Breeze High School, and be enrolled full-time in an associate or bachelor's degree program. Student must attend a special campus orientation led by PSC Pirates CARE, serve five hours per week in the PSC Pirates CARE Student Resource Center, participate in biweekly meetings with their PSC Pirates CARE Mentor, and attend monthly life skills workshops.
