Quoted from the page it was published on, word for word. This quote is cut off: we captured part of the sponsor's page, not all of it, so read the full text there before you apply. Where our summary above and this text disagree, this text is correct. Tell us and we'll fix the summary.
Our read on this award
3 figures we worked out, not the sponsor's. Free, and it takes an email address.
- Awards given each year
- 1 (the sponsor's number)
How these are worked out
- Our grade. From three facts the sponsor published. How few can apply: one high school or city 3 points, a county 2, the state 1, the whole country 0. How much it pays: $10,000 or more, or at least half of tuition, 3; $2,500 or more 2; $1,000 or more 1. Paid again in later years: 1. A is 4 points or more, B 3, C 2, D 0 or 1.
- Value for the effort. The published amount divided by the 75 minutes the sponsor's own requirements take.
- Conditions to meet. The conditions the sponsor published, each listed under Who can apply. More conditions means a smaller field, which is good news if you meet them.
- None of it is a chance of winning. We do not know how many people apply or how a sponsor chooses, so we do not publish a percentage. Anyone who does is guessing.
