What is the largest local scholarship in Indian River County?
Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society Merit Scholarship, from Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society, at $1,000. It is restricted to this area rather than open nationally, so the applicant pool is a fraction of the size.

Which Indian River County scholarships require an essay?
4 of the 8 awards state that an essay is required. The other 4 do not mention one, which means the sponsor did not publish that detail.
Why apply for local scholarships instead of national ones?
